You might recall that her first tooth was lost while eating Cotton Candy at Disneyland! Although that is magical and exciting (and she now asks for cotton candy anytime she has a loose tooth), it also means that tooth was pretty darn loose!
Well on our ill-fated, but fabulous trip to Colorado Springs, she had a loose tooth. It was so loose that it was making several of us ill to look at her -- oh wait, that was the virus! Well we did look each other in the face enough to know that Sarah's tooth needed to come out! Next to cotton candy, the only solution she accepts for teeth pulling is the ol' dental floss technique. (I didn't know people actually used that -- I thought they just threatened their children with it!)
Well we checked our toiletries and our glove compartment and there wasn't any dental floss or string to be found. Due to my feeling ill and Joanna throwing up, the tooth was forgotten until Saturday morning. Then we decided we really needed dental floss. So we stopped at a convenience store for ibuprofen for James's headache, strawberry milk for my stomach, candy to see us through the football game, and dental floss to pull Sarah's tooth. Guess what! They didn't have dental floss in the place -- only those floss picks that do double as a tool for Matthew's speech therapy but not for tooth removal! So Sarah's tooth had to wait. We thought we might make it to a Wal-Mart, but due to another detour in our vacation that didn't happen either. It wasn't until that night when we stopped for dinner on the way home (and Michael threw-up) that Sarah was eating her Arby's sandwich and out came her dangly, almost dead tooth! She's quite the kid!
All the same we love her lots and she now has one of the cutest smiles in the world!
