8x8=64

The kids' elementary school got an Accelerated Reading program a couple of years ago. With this program, the kids have an easier time finding books at their reading level. They also can take ten question quizzes on the books they read to earn points. Michael has had to work harder than my girls to learn to read, but he has put in the effort and is reaping the rewards. He loves to read and loves being read to. When Michael has a good book the house is much quieter than other times because he disappears and reads a lot! Each student in his reading group at school was supposed to earn 8 A.R. points during the first quarter of school (that ends tomorrow). Yesterday Michael was so excited to get to school and take one more quiz. Once he was done with that quiz he had 64.8 points. His only disappointment was that is wasn't exactly 64 points because his personal goal had been to get 8 times the 8 required points. (He's also a math whiz!) This kid is great at setting goals and reaching them.

Here's Michael with his favorite book, winning smile, and sense of humor.
