Weather

The weather here in Fort Collins has been a little crazy this year.  We had snow at the beginning of May this year!  So far this school year, the kids have already stayed home from school for both a heat day and a rain day.  The rain led to major flooding in our area that wiped out roads and homes and did a lot of damage.  During that time, James worked 12+ hour shifts (from 2 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.) at an emergency command center in Loveland.  His boss was stranded in their mountain home and didn't evacuate for 2 weeks!  (They declined being evacuated by helicopter two days into the flood and instead stayed long enough to winterize their home and come out on ATVs.)  So James and his crew kept the EOC manned around the clock as well as having someone in their office scheduling the water around the clock as well.  Although devastating and exhausting, it was a great experience for James to get to be part of.  We also have had a nice October snow storm.  It's always fun to get out and play in the first snow of the year.
