It's hard to believe my little guy is 5 years old! But he is thrilled to be so big. He got to have a friend party this year -- which he loved. It was a Pirate Party. We searched for hidden treasure in our rice bucket, played pin the patch on the pirate eye, and did a bean bag toss. Also each kid got to make their own treasure chest cake. They really enjoyed that! We ended the party with a treasure hunt. The kids were thrilled to finally find the treasure and could hardly believe their luck when they got their own treasure boxes with candy and would you believe FRUIT SNACKS in them!!!! This age is so fun. It doesn't take much to make them happy.
Matthew continues to be such a great kid that works his way into everyone's heart. I took him in for his well-child check up. And even the doctor who has a relatively gruff bedside manner said (as he was checking Matthew's reflexes and tummy), "You can sure make a guy feel guilty doing this to you!" Matthew wasn't complaining at all. He was just trying to be so good with a very pained, concerned look on his little face. It made it hard for the doctor to continue!
We sure love our Matthew and are so grateful he is ours.
