A Visit From Grandma and Grandpa!

We got a surprise visit from Grandma and Grandpa a week and a half ago. It was wonderful! We didn't know for sure that they were coming until the day the came, but that was great -- zero anticipation and very little time to worry about cleaning.

They brought their two dogs which is a total hit for the kids. Michael especially, but all of the kids love having big dogs to wrestle and 'mother' and feed and play fetch with. What a treat!

The folks were so helpful -- they baby-sat the kids while I ran the other ones around and helped 'love up' the kids by playing catch with them, working with them, teaching them things, and playing games with them. They also helped out in the yard, cheered Michael on in baseball, and even hemmed James's pants and shorts for scout camp! They are so encouraging of James and me and the kids that we always feel better about ourselves when they leave. I'm so happy they would take the time and drive the drive to be with us.

Grandpa even tried out James's roller blades! What a great sport!
