A Dozen Highlights

Here are a dozen things that came to mind as I was reviewing the week and trying to record some of it.

1. Matthew has kept walking and running at Mileage Club even though he is often exhausted after school and earned his first Toe Tag today!

2. Michael has earned and been awarded two more arrow points (making 4 total) as a Wolf. His goal is one more before his birthday in June.

3. Katherine had a great time at ECO-Week. The best part for her was dorm life -- a truly great thing for someone from my gene pool.

4. It only took about an hour before Matthew sneezed the small ball of toilet tissue that was stuck up his nose out.

5. Sarah had a great time on her field trip to the Aquarium. Her favorite things to see were the Sea Otters and the Siberian Tigers.

6. Joanna only chipped her tooth a little when she fell and hit her mouth on the cart at Wal-Mart. (We didn't actually notice the chip until the next morning.) Fortunately it was one of the few times James has been with us so he could stop the bleeding and reassure the risk-managers at Wal-Mart, and I could check-out.

7. Sarah and Michael both had good soccer games on Saturday and the weather cooperated for an even more enjoyable experience.

8. James, Carol, Katherine and Michael all went to the THEATER to see Percy Jackson and the Olympians -- The Lightning Thief on Friday. We had a great time together and loved discussing the differences between the book and the movie.

9. Carol made her first fresh strawberry pie -- yum!

10. James and Carol (with the kids along too) attended the Eagle Court of Honor for three boys in our ward. A great accomplishment -- both that the boys earned their Eagles and that we made it through the evening. Jo's for sale!

11. Michael's egg survived the egg drop at school. Whew! (It was packaged well enough it should have survived a fall three times as high, but you never know!)

12. Due to some fun games sparked by ideas from my sister's blog ( http://miriamandgreg.blogspot.com/2010/04/learning-through-play-cars.html) Matthew is much closer to telling the difference between 6, 9, and 8. And we've had a lot of fun in the process.

I don't have a lot of pictures from the week, but I have a few and some friends took pictures at some of the events I missed so maybe this post will have pictures eventually.
