Preschool With Sarah

This week I got to teach Sarah's coop preschool. We were talking about the letter S. On Monday we had a great time discussing Spring, Sun, Splashing, Sowing Seeds, and Singing Spring Songs. One of the kids' favorite activities was when we pretended our mats (and a few placemats from home) were puddles. We turned on a song called Splashdance and tried to jump over all of the puddles. Then we changed and just Splashed from puddle to puddle. I then had a big black bag (aka cloud) of balloons left over from Matthew's birthday that we let out as raindrops. At first we tried to keep all of the raindrops in the air. Then we "Splashed" each other with them. What fun!

On Wednesday we talked about Space. We made 'astronaut' food by mixing up dehydrated pudding in Ziplock bags. We sang Star Songs as the Squished and Squished their bags to mix it. Then I cut off a corner and the Slurped up their pudding. The other highlight of this day was launching Alka-Seltzer Rockets! What fun! They were so excited to take a rocket home with some Alka-Seltzer tablets to show their families.
