James leaving work for the last time. (His office was in a different part of this building.)
In addition to adding a new baby to our family and doing the holiday season, James has changed employers. It was a voluntary change that we hope will lead to positive career growth and good things for our family. He found a promising position that is only 2-3 minutes from our home. Since the change was local, it hasn't impacted our home life as much as it could have. Life has been pretty much business as usual through the transition. I did, however, take the kids that were home with me to meet James as he came out of his previous work for the last time and we went out to lunch to celebrate. That was on a Friday. On Saturday morning we were getting up and ready for the day and James was just sitting at the foot of our bed thinking. All of a sudden he said, "It feels really strange. Today I am unemployed and listless." It was kind of a moment for us to absorb the change a little bit. Then I gave him a "Honey-Do" list and we moved on. He was no longer "listless" and on Monday he was no longer unemployed.
