Thanksgiving 2010

We made a break for Utah in between storms for Thanksgiving. Fortunately the 'Blizzard of 2010' did not turn into the storm they had predicted so we were able to make it to Utah without difficulty. We spent a wonderful Thanksgiving Day with James's family and then spent Friday with the L.'s in Logan. It was wonderful to be 'home' for the holiday. That was a first for us since we moved to Seattle 12 years ago. We played games, ate great food, sang songs, and got to know cousins and grandparents better. Some of the highlights:
  • Katherine getting to be with the grown-ups after bedtime enough to discover that, "Grown-ups are WEIRD!"
  • Matthew and Michael riding the tube around Grandpa V.'s 'back forty' with Grandpa towing them on the lawn mower.
  • The bedroom made especially for Sarah and Katherine using a Load Lock.
  • Playing with the cousins and frosting Indian Corn cookies.
  • Playing the Great Dalmoody
  • Michael getting a true taste of Ham Radio as he got to practice his Morse Code on a real key and talk on the radio for the first time with Grandpa. Grandpa, Michael, James, and I all took turns visiting with Tom KE6YNH in San Diego.
  • Grandpa L. having to whistle so we could find him playing Sardines.
  • Singing some of our favorite songs with the L.'s and doing the Hokey Pokey with the cousins.
  • Lots of great food: a Thanksgiving feast, Halibut from Dad L.'s trip to Alaska, Pies and Pies

Thanks, family, for making Thanksgiving so great for us this year. We wish we could have stayed longer!

(I didn't take any pictures on vacation, but Katherine took these of the boys.)
